KNOXVILLE

Emotional Release Therapy Workshop

led by Dr. Walter Weston

 Saturday, May 17, 2008, 9 – 4      Sunday, May 18, 2008, 1:30 – 4:00

at Church Street United Methodist Church

900 Henley at Main  (just east of the University of Tennessee campus) Knoxville, TN 37901

Dr. Weston
is returning to Knoxville after holding a very successful ERT workshop here four years ago.  It is truly a pleasure to announce his return, May 17 - 18, 2008.  His workshops are practical.  ERT removes a lifetime of personal pain in 45 minutes.  It removes destructive emotional states like depression, grief, anger, anxiety, shyness, and a sense of inadequacy in just one or two sessions.  ERT has removed the emotional pain of infants three weeks old and older, and of pets such as dogs, cats and horses. There will be ample time throughout the workshop to practice ERT upon yourself and others.

Walter Weston is a United Methodist minister who holds a doctorate in healing research and has practiced spiritual healing for more than forty years. He finds ERT is more effective than many other methods and can be practiced by anyone.  The latest of his five books is “Emotional Release Therapy” @ $14.95, and he has produced a DVD on ERT @ $15.  He is married to Dana, an RN, and has three daughters and eight grandchildren. He lives in Wadsworth, Ohio. His email address is WWESTON@NEO.RR.COM and his web site is www.walterweston.com

The Saturday workshop will be in the Church Life Center (CLC) of Church Street Church, a noticeably newer part of church.  Directional signs will be posted in the hallways.  Parking Saturday will be best towards rear of CLC.  Sunday’s workshop will be on lowest floor of main church building.  Note: None of the meeting rooms have padded chairs.  Bring a cushion if you wish.  Snacks and drinks available. If you would like to bring something to share, please do.  (Thank you).

Out of Town - If you need a place to stay while in Knoxville, group-rates have been made with Holiday Inn Select, 545 Henley, Knoxville (less than a mile from the church), 865-522-2800.  When you call, please inform that you are part of the Weston ERT group.  Rate for our group is $95 per room.  All available rooms have two double beds.  If you would like to share a room but do not have a person to share with, but willing to share your name, send email to L2Blair@att.net , or call Linda at 865-531-0792.

For personal appointments with Dr. Weston, contact Linda   L2blair@att.net  or 865-531-0792  Individual appointments may be made for Friday, Monday, or Tuesday.

Eileen Meagher PhD:  Spring Forest Qi Gong: A Healer in Every Family, A World Without Pain”

The historical roots of Qigong date back at least 4,000 years to ancient China.  Qi is the fundamental core of the entire manifest universe, the building block of all matter. The word Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) literally means the study of transforming or manipulating energy. The concept is that all Qi is intended to flow smoothly and continuously, to be in harmony and balance with the universe. The founder of Spring Forest Qi Gong, Chunyi Lin was awarded certification as an International Qigong Master after years of training with many of the most highly respected Qigong Masters in his native China.  As he continued his training, master Lin created a program for teaching Qigong that has simplified the approach, allowing the average person on the street to take his courses and learn healing. The system he created is called Spring Forest Qigong.  He resides in Minneapolis, MN where he has a Spring Forest Qigong healing Center.
BIO: Eileen Meagher PhD has studied all four levels of Spring Forest Qigong with Master Lin. She returns to Minneapolis, home of Master Lin, twice a year for continued study. She has also taken the intensive Guide Program which he offered for those who wished to teach levels I and II of Spring forest Qigong.  She has taught over 50 people in the Chattanooga area and offers courses on an ongoing basis. CHATTANOOGA - Nutrition World

THE Expert (Dr Terry Smith MD) will be speaking on Vitamin D and then offering the blood test for an amazing price of $25.00!

Ed Jones writes: Dr Smith MD approached me with this idea of him giving a life-changing, informative lecture on Vitamin D and then immediately drawing blood for checking the Vitamin D levels for those interested.  I was so excited about this idea yet I have seen labs charge as much as $120.00 for this test however Dr Smith will be offering it for an incredible price of $25.00!  This is your one time opportunity to potentially alter the true course of your life and health and do it for at least 50% OFF any other prices I have seen.

The lecture will be on Monday May 19, at 5:00pm.  I will remind you as the time gets closer with an additional email.  Please forward this to anyone who may benefit from this information.  My website recommendation for learning why you need this information is http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/

My disclaimer: Nutrition World is only allowing Dr Smith MD to offer this test at the location of Nutrition World and in no way is the test being sold or offered by Nutrition World or its owner.

In addition to usual medical procedures, he also uses Chelation therapy and nutritional and vitamin therapies in his practice. Personalized Medicine: Treating the Whole Person
Presenter: Dr. Diana Sarkar, MD.

Dr. Sarkar feels that the medicine of the twenty-first century should be individual not disease diagnosis with a ”one size fits all” treatment protocol. Dr. Sarkar will share her ideas with us on how it is possible to have integrative medical consultation that will treat the whole person. This is a holistic approach that allows for a safe and supportive environment for the healing process, and guidance for self development and self healing. Some of the therapies and modalities that might be used to individualize treatments include but are not limited to medical acupuncture, herbal medicine as an adjunct to traditional medications, preventive medicine, lifestyle and stress management, counseling and biofeedback, manual therapies, nutritional and supplement counseling, mind-body techniques for wellness and guidance in learning to live effectively with chronic Illness. Dr. Sarkar will focus on how to partner with illness and injuries to facilitate healing. Dr. Sarkar has an active practice in Knoxville .She most commonly uses therapies that are an adjunct to a patient’s regular medical care from his/her primary care physician thereby being able to treat the whole person.

A drawing will be held for a free one hour in home massage donated by Jackie Culp, LMT.

The City of Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Chattanooga Tai Ji Community and Chattanooga Sister Cities, is offering free Tai Ji classes at Miller Park on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7-8 a.m. The classes start on Tuesday, March 10.

The new Tai Ji classes are a part of a city-wide "healthy lifestyles" initiative created by Parks and Recreation Department Administrator Larry Zehnder to provide more wellness and enrichment programs for workers, students, and visitors in the city's downtown parks.

The Tai Ji classes will be lead by Dr. Zibin Guo and instructors he has trained from the Chattanooga Tai Ji Community.

Dr. Guo joined the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, & Geography at UTC in 1998. Upon his arrival to Chattanooga, he founded the Tai Ji Community and has shared his expertise in the areas of Medical Anthropology; Chinese Medicine; Research Methods on Health Care Behavior; Mind & Body Healing; Cultural and Mental Health; and Aging and Health locally, nationally, and internationally.

He holds a post doctorate in Social Medicine, from the Harvard School of Medicine, a PH.D in Anthropology as well as a masters degree in Education from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Guo has served as Chinese Martial Arts instructor and Tai Ji Master for over 25 years.

Although the class is free and open to everyone,
