Formed in Chattanooga in 2002, the goal of
our non-profit is to educate the public about alternative,
holistic, complementary and integrative health practices; and to create
a supportive network for practitioners and persons interested in these
modalities. In 2007, we added the Knoxville Chapter, making the CHEO
Chattanooga Board for our organization a National Board of
Directors. |
CHATTANOOGA CHEO EVENTS:
CHATTANOOGA
CHAPTER -- CHEO Monthly Meeting
Sunday, July 18th,
2-4 pm at Miller-Motte (MMTC)
Topic: "Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UVBI)"
Presenter: Dr. Charles Adams, MD: 2pm – 3pm: Discover the
amazing benefits & results of this 70-year old non-pharmaceutical,
non-surgical FDA approved treatment for auto-immune disorders
including lymphoma cancers, inflammatory conditions, bacterial &
viral infections presented by Dr. Charles Adams, MD
who has just added UVBI to his wide array of
available complementary and mainstream therapies.
Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI), also known as
Biophotonic Therapy, refers to the treatment of the blood
with various wavelengths of ultraviolet light. It was pioneered in
the 1920's by a
Seattle
scientist, Emmet Knott, who used it with apparent success to treat a
patient who was moribund after a septic abortion and gained some
popularity during the 1940's and 1950's, particularly among
surgeons, who used it to suppress postoperative infections. The
purposes of the therapy include improvement of the oxygen levels in
the blood and modulation of the immune system. A study also found
potential for the treatment of bronchial asthma using this
technique. It fell out of favor in the
United
States
with the increased usage of vaccines and antibiotics in mainstream
treatment.
The technique has
experienced a resurgence in popularity since the 1990's, due to
concern over drug resistance and increased interest in alternative
medicine. Ultraviolet blood irradiation is one of the modalities of
blood irradiation therapies. This group of therapies irradiate the
blood with combinations of different lights and energy sources for
the purpose of imparting therapeutic benefits.
Networking Session: 3pm – 4pm: Stay for a networking session
with providers of holistic health products & services facilitated by
Dr. Phillip Gawthrop, DC & sponsored by the Complementary Health
Education Organization (CHEO).
