What brought you to Alternative Health and the field/product you're involved with?

I wanted to learn new ways to relax and enjoy life with ease. When I lived in Portland, Oregon, I became curious to know more about energy, so I enrolled in a Reiki Class and never looked back! The Reiki classes gave me new tools for health and stress reduction, which I use every day.

What services do you offer?

My business, Intrinsic Works, demonstrates fun practical energy tools for work, health and life. I create and facilitate workshops and presentations on how to use your own natural power. As an intuitive, I give readings and intuitive coaching sessions. I also teach Reiki classes and provide Reiki sessions.

What are 5 things you think the public needs to know about holistic health but doesn't?

Holistic Health is:

  1. Accessible
  2. Affordable
  3. Great Return on Investment
  4. Preventative Focused
  5. Dramatically increases quality of life, work and health

5 years ago holistic health was:

In a field all its own and available in larger cities or in smaller pockets of our population.

Currently holistic health creates health care options that are:

Affordable and accessible for a greater number of people, no matter where you live!

In 10 years holistic health will be:

Widely used to reduce the cost of our health care and as an effective means to improve our nation's health. Prescriptions, surgeries and invasive treatment will be seen as practices used for specific purposes such as trauma response or as the last resort. Hospitals and medical offices will offer holistic health options as part of their practices for prevention and wellness.

What advice do you have for people looking to get into your field of practice?

Find mentors! Practice what you teach! Collaborate!

What is the most remarkable thing you've seen in your business?

I've seen people change their beliefs and behaviors in gratifying ways. Witnessing people's willingness to change is miraculous. Instead of focusing on limitations and struggles, circumstances or blame, I've seen people open their minds and hearts to themselves, others and to life. Instead of seeing life as an adversary, something to battle it out, I've seen people let go, grow and connect in profound ways. It is very moving.

What is your most proud accomplishment thus far with your business?

Working with diverse populations, with people who are exploring new ways to relate to their health and life. I coordinated and facilitated "The Power of Chi!". Summer camp workshop for a multigenerational group of grandparents and teenagers at a retirement village in Florida. Talk about being on opposite ends of the spectrum! It all came together and everyone was able to get something out of it, to use in their daily lives. The grandparents were the ones to sign their grandkids up for the program because they felt they were too stressed out to enjoy life.
